This article will tell you about the Stamina 1215 Orbital rowing machine. We like to call this home rower a “budget REAL rower” what we mean by that is if you have looked at our review of the Concept 2 rower you will know that to get a real rowing action it can cost a lot of money. Of course, the REAL rowing action is not strictly needed if you are just looking for something to get you in better shape at home.
However, if you are looking to stay in shape as a rower you need the real rowing action to work for the same muscle groups. Normally this will cost well over $500 but the Stamina 1215 rower gives you this motion and it is under $300!
With the Stamina 1215 rower, you get rowing arms and the resistance is hydraulic while the seat is padded and glides on a ball bearing system. The arms can be adjusted for resistance and you have foam grips that are comfortable and keep it stable.
This rower is also a winner if you are looking for a compact rower. It is only 23.5 x 48 inches and only weighs 47 pounds which is very light for a rower. For this reason, we would recommend this rower if your workout space is small.
You also have a monitor that will show speed, distance, time, row count, calories burned and miles rowed. Another interesting feature with the Stamina 1215 Orbital Rowing Machine is that you can increase the beam incline if you are looking for a harder workout.
The footplates can be secured easily and they also pivot which just means when you are using the rower it is a little bit more comfortable.
The rowing arms which obviously stick out a little when you are using the rower will fold in for easy storage. The warranty you get with the 1215 Orbital rower is fairly decent and you will get 5 years on the mainframe and 90 days on the movable parts.
So all in all this makes for a good budget rower when you want a REAL rower action with the arms that move like real oars.
The one thing we would say to be careful of with the 1215 Orbital rower is that 90% of the reviews are decent but a few said that reliability was not that good. We would say if you are going to have to break the bank to get the Concept 2 and you NEED a rower with real action pick this up.
However for a few hundred dollars more you can get our top pick.
We rate this rower as 7/10 and that is only because there is a slight reliability issue apparent.
