In this article, we are looking at the most advanced of the home rowers but it is also the one with the biggest price tag. This one is the next rower up from the Concept 2 Model D rower that we have already reviewed.
So what is the difference between the two and why does the Model E rower cost more?
There are a few differences but really it is because the Model E is the most advanced home rower on the market. In fact, you will not find a better rower outside of the gym and this is better than most gym rowers too. I would say that the Concept2 Model E Indoor Rowing Machine is for advanced users that need to get the edge in their workout or they need something really heavy duty or as close as you are going to get to the real thing.

The first noticeable difference is that the Model E rower will sit higher up off the floor compared to the Model D and for a rough guide it works out at about 20 inches above a normal dining room chair.
You also get a really advanced PM4 Performance monitor with the rower and the monitor arm is fixed on the Model E. You will find that on the Concept 2 Model D it pivots and moves around.
As well as this you get a rechargeable battery pack and a Garmin chest belt so you can monitor your heart rate.
So the main reason why it is more expensive is that it is as close to rowing as you can get without actually doing it.

Concept2 Model E Indoor Rowing Machine Best Values
The model is super solid and is more heavy-duty than all of the rowers we have looked at before. You also have the flywheel design which gives enough resistance for anyone and it is super quiet. Surprisingly, even though this is a heavy-duty home rower it will separate into 2 parts for easy storage.
You can also have a maximum user weight of 500 pounds!
The PM4 Monitor gives you a ton of features that include automatic-start, you just need to start rowing and it will fire up on its own. You have all of the basics and it will track distance, speed, pace, calories, and watts.
You also can pick what you want to be displayed from five options: All data, force curve, rowing with a pace boat, bar chart, and large print.
Another interesting feature is that you can transfer the data to a PC or a MAC using the USB interface. You also get preset workouts and a game that is called the FISH game to keep the rowing fun. The heart rate monitor is built-in and you just need to put on the Garmin chest strap and it will monitor your heart rate wirelessly.
We recommend this rower if you want the best money can buy!
It is as simple as that!
There is not a better rower on the market but it does come at a price!
